Light, unable to pierce
Held in it’s place
Shows not it’s face
Here in the depths
Down where I drift
In the deep water
Night, evasive above
Blankets the waves
Anchor-less graves
Here in the depths
Down where I drift
In the deep water
Cries, haunting in tone
Echoing long
Giants in song
Here in the depths
Down where I drift
In the deep water
Life, left to the swell
Taken by tide
See without eyes
Here in the depths
Down where I drift
In the deep water
Sink, weightless to hold
Rooms without walls
Love without falls
Here in the depths
Down where I drift
In the deep water
Captive by freedom encircled by reason
Caught up believing in life without breathing
Solace in silence suspended in dreaming
Drawn to the hidden by forces of needing
Treasures uncovered in worlds undiscovered
Surfaces broken for dissident lovers
Lungs unadjusted in waters uncharted
Sounding the deep for the turbulent-hearted
You have very intriguing style of writing. The words are engaged in a game of the mind … I enjoy reading your posts.
Have you heard of Poetry Potluck? It’s a place where you share your poetry, usually every week there is a theme, but you can link a poem not related to the theme. It gives you the chance to meet other poets, read others work and of course it draws traffic to your blog. Here is a link if you want to give it a try …

It is very intriguing. I will be returning there. Thank you for the recommendation!
have you tried songwriting? i think your stuff can be turned into a song!
Thank you. I have turned a few poems into songs, but never felt the confidence to share them π
why don’t you give it a shot? i tried doing it once on my blog. i uploaded them n youtube first, then featured the link in two of my posts. you do know that some artists nowadays are discovered online right? your poem is good, and i think that your songs are too! find a way to feature them and let me know okay?
Thank you very much for the encouragement. I will certainly give that some thought. I would love to hear your work.
I would like to hear your songs.
Thank you muse. Mythologically speaking, I imagine having you around should help me with that π
This is an incredibly evocative poem – very adept handling of a beautiful extended metaphor

I was addicted since the first line. I’m thankful to have come upon this site. It keeps me breathing. It may have just saved my life.
Wow thank you so much. I needed this.
It’s the least I can do after the way your poetry has encouraged me.
This is amazing, truly a masterpiece.
You are very generous with your words
I neglected to mention this previously–but you do amazing things with rhyme, which expands your excellent imagery. Very impressive.
