For gentle eyes
Those moistened eyes
That weep for things they cannot see
For tired hearts
Those lonely hearts
Discouraged in their faithful drum
For fragile hands
Those vacant hands
That beckon still and reach to seek
For empty arms
Those restless arms
Embracing air without relief
For silent lips
Those saddened lips
Their words abducted by a grief
For hurting souls
Those aching lives
Confounded by some sordid fate
You needn’t dwell on cruelty
Or tragic days we all well know
You needn’t stay in apathy
Or wait for those death chose to go
The orbits turn and time is firm
The tears, not either can reverse
For those who mourn are soon to learn
The earth has borne an ancient curse
So many times I have mourned and I am sure there will be many more. But I am thankful for the hope that is there…. it isn’t always there but generally it is there enough to get me through.
Well written and very touching π
Thank you, Lydia. I thought it would be appropriate for the weekend π
very beautiful consolation for those who mourn. The reality of pain is certainly a curse yet so aptly does it make way for beauty, new life and a resilient character π Lovely piece of writing as usual.
Thank you, BlueGem. Your thoughts are always uplifting to me π I’m glad you took time to read it
Such a sweet sorrow that you have expressed so elegantly. Your words are touching as always, beautiful work π
Your poetry often leads me to believe your muse does quite the job of inflicting pain upon you.
Oh, that isn’t true at all. My muse is beyond all the most wonderful muse that ever the universe permitted. My muse is never the source of my pain. My muse merely enables me to make art from my pain.
But I’m sure I endure pain for my muse. That, however, is a sacrifice I make by choice. Thank you so much for reading. I know my work seems rather depressing at times. I suppose I am eternally tragic somewhere deep inside
Tragic is more magical than happy all of the time. Although I do wish such a kind soul to be happy.
You have one lucky muse to have such nice things said about her. You are a sweet one.
I could never say enough. Thank you, Muse
You do an impeccable job of constant new poetry and each has it’s own style and way of touching the readers soul. Awesome work!
