Mind/Machine

Dark–dwelling inside of your eyes
Cold and unfeeling disguise
Is this the way you decide
Our future?

Dark–just like your arrogant mind
Whirring like gears at the grind
Is this the way you decide
What we do here?

Break all of your wires and
Take all these desires you
Fight, holding to power but
I don’t need your vintage of

Hate–or is it just how you
Think? All your emotions
Erased as the machines have
Replaced your senses

Blank–nothing computes in your
Brain. What is there left here to
Say? You cannot process my
Way of dreaming

Wake–make your way back to a
Place we can recover this
Face you manufactured to
Save composure

Break all of your wires and
Take all these desires you
Fight, holding to power but
I don’t need your style of

Hate–or is it just how you
Think? All your emotions
Erased as the machines have
Replaced your senses

  1. Very good portrayal of the passive/aggressive personality. Unfortunately so much of this is automatic/mechanical — your poem reflects the need to for such people to take that courageous and difficult step to start behaving differently — constantly overcoming the mechanics and breakign the circuitry/wires as you so accurately note.

  2. Nice piece VW. I don’t expect you will get quite as many comments on this one, but indeed dreams seem to be the only way to re-wire our machines to serve us rather than what currently is the reality…we serving them…and them include most of us.

  3. Hate–or is it just how you
    Think? All your emotions
    Erased as the machines have
    Replaced your senses…..

it’s like dwelling real and unreal…. reminds me of him wanted to take everything just like a machine with no feeling… great poem….thank you for sharing…
