The pixie dust
Long since swept up
Has left only a fading glow
Upon the harsh wooden floor
And I am here
Dangling between wand
And life
How long will I
Be caught between
Being the coachman and the dog
How long will I
Be snagged in thinking
The taste of these enchantments
Is bitter in the end
A hollow sound
Of fairy games
And riven souls
Beautiful poerty VW although dark….desperate is a soul which has travelled so long and yet so far away from the shore or the end
Thank you, Soma. The dark blesses me with its inspiration I’m afraid
Absolutely beautiful inspiration I must add 🙂
Well, thank you my friend!
I adore the beginning, the mention of pixie dust , but the last line “A hollow sound
Of fairy games And riven souls. Fair took my heart away. lovely lovely.xx
You make me smile, willow, with your kind words 🙂
BEAUTIFUL POETRY 🙂
THE IMAGE – IS THAT A MATTRESS ?
LUSCIOUS POETRY
SEEMINGLY WRITEN FROM A VERY INTIMATE PLACE ——- 🙂
XXC
That is actually skin, but nothing is ever as it seems in my images 🙂
TELL ME ABOUT IT 🙂 LOL 🙂
ANYWAYS ——— FEELS LIKE WAS WRITTEN FROM A BED …… NAKEDNESS INTIMACY BEAUTY !
I do write from bed quite a lot actually lol
I KNEW THAT 🙂 Lol ….:) xx
Very much enjoyed this poem. I reread it several times and will probably do so again.
And for myself too, dark inspires me.
♥
Thank you so much, bipolarmuse. Your work is inspiring! Your art is so beautiful in its darkness
This puts me in mind of a verse from Dylan’s “Desolation Row”.
Cinderella, she seems so easy
“It takes one to know one,” she smiles
And puts her hands in her back pockets
Bette Davis style
And in comes Romeo, he’s moaning
“You Belong to Me I Believe”
And someone says, “You’re in the wrong place my friend
You better leave”
And the only sound that’s left
After the ambulances go
Is Cinderella sweeping up
On Desolation Row
Which in way diminishes your own fine take on that all too familiar scene in the fairy tale/pantomime. I especially like
“A hollow sound
Of fairy games
And riven souls”
You inspire me to go and seek out the music, ben! And so I will 🙂 thank you
Beautiful, VW, as always, even though inspired by dark moments..
How long will I
Be snagged in thinking
The taste of these enchantments
Is bitter in the end
I hope someday the taste will be much sweeter~
The world needs both shades of light and patches of darkness. Perhaps my art is meant to offset the beauty of such lovely works as yours 🙂
Beautiful VW, as always. The darkness shall be no more by the light.
Hugs, xx
Thank you, deb 🙂
this is beautiful VW, how I wish light comes so soon to taste sweeter at the end…
Sweetness is more so after bitterness I would think. Thank you
Bitter and yet so sweet…how very nice VW!
Thank you, my friend 🙂
Wonderful description of that certain Magic – the illusion and the disillusionment, and being caught between. (And what is magical to me is how you weave your poetry so expertly. Amazing writing once again, VW!)
You humble me with your lovely compliments 🙂
And I mean every word! I’m the one who feels humbled. 🙂
OH WOW–that’s all, I’m speechless…!
Well, what a lovely compliment! Thank you
We sit together
Not knowing where we stand
Both smiling
Pretending
Ignoring an ending
Sprinkling magic dust
Covering up the truth
Happily aloof
Stretching it out
How long can we hang on
To our off-beat song
Pretending
Just spreading that dust
In life such lies are a must
I have missed your writing!! Excellent poem to come back to!!

You’re amazing in poetry, Vampire,
in a way I could never be.
CHEERS.
N.
I will humbly accept the first part of your statement, though I want to protest, however I believe the second half is debatable. You have an incredible imagination, and I think you could be as amazing as you want to be with no restrictions 🙂
Darkened edges… But a wondrously
offered piece of poetry Vampire Weather 🙂
Androgoth
Yes, the dark edges are there often I fear. Thank you, my friend
