Lovely … it reminded me of the first epileptic seizure I ever had. It happened in a graveyard at a funeral and when I regained my senses, I was laid out on a grave with a tombstone over my head. I thought I’d died and the stone read “beloved”
What an amazing story, Gillian! I have always wished to attend my own funeral and see my own grave. Interesting that dwellings we keep for only a few years we put so much thought into, but the place we lie for all time we probably will never see. At least you had a sense that you were “beloved” π
I have to agree with others…what an epitaph this is and after reading your words, VW, I had an “Oh, Wow” reaction! Though short in length, so strong in meaning~xx
Lets not think about this right now! I look forward to your muse making an entrance soon again and reading more brilliance from your penning! π
p.s. slide show???
Yes, most funerals I have attended involve a photo slide show. Perhaps we should use my images from the blog for it. How interesting that would be…
Beautiful epitaph VW..that is what is there to life, live and love
omg i just read the last comment slide show really VW you are a vampire ..i think a vampire slide show will make others embrace their graves earlier π
Excellent poem VW and like others have stated here I agree with them..
Im having no stone for the letters to be engraved
For the Wind and the Valley is the place I have saved
And the meadow and the brook I will follow on down
And the flowers are already blooming in the ground…………….
Love to you my friend……. And we are not going anywhere Just! Yet! π
That is such an amazing eppthaph, it just says it all! I have lived and loved and left!! (~_~ ) xx
Now you know what to write for me if you are ever asked π
Don’t Vampires’ live forever!! π
Good heavens, I certainly hope not π
Beautiful epitaph.’I have lived and loved and left’ wish everybody can say that.
There is no living without loving, perhaps, and there should be no leaving before it either π

Beautiful as always
Thank you, Sarah π
No regrets, indeed, VW–when we have truly loved as we walked through life.
True. The only regrets are those moments without love
That is just beautiful, VW!
xo
Thank you, Deb!
This is a direct, condense poem that sings with wisdom. Good work.
Thank you, my friend. That is a rare compliment indeed and I appreciate that π
Beautiful VW… I have to say though, this one brought a tear to my eye… :’-)
Thank you, my friend. I am grateful for your feelings π

Thank you! There is part of my funeral preparations! Now I must choose the songs and make the slide show π

Tomorrow is not a promise, but perhaps there are yet a few days left for me π
Beautiful to have no regrets.
Love should entail no regrets…my opinion π
I wish they had “like”, “love”, and “freakin awesome” buttons.
This is more than “like”.
Aw π
Comforting words not only for yourself but for those you will leave behind.

Being “laid to rest” sounds quite comforting indeed. π
