Clutched, I find our picket signs are
Painted hearts on wicked minds
Graffiti love–this sleepless town
A neon drug with wired sounds
The weak, the few, the scattered are
The warriors of tomorrow’s coup
Indifference: the enemy
The power: us. The weapon: you.
The cause is what we make of it
With future eyes’ unsilenced gaze
Across the codes we write of love
Across the viruses of hate
We pen a history to come
A melody as yet unsung
And cast our vote beneath the sheets
Of being free–of being we
LOVE it. love it. love it.
Thank you! And thank you for stopping by π
“Across the codes we write of love
Across the viruses of hate
We pen a history to come” This is what we must continue doing more and
more of, just as we did on the SOPA/PIPA online
protests and emails. Then we just continue to
show even more love and support to those near
at hand, as you indicate in your closing lines.
Your words are ever inspiring granbee. Thank you!
It truly amazes me the way you can find words to express. Another excellent piece my friend.
Have a great rest of the the day, VW! And thank you for stopping in this morning!
Hugs, Deb xx
It is always a pleasure to stop in to your gallery, Deb π
Amazing, I love it!
Thank you Jaded!
love it!
Thank you Willow!
Tear them down
Let the great drums sound
Bury this evil in the ground
As ourselves we are few
But together we are the greatest one
The loudest mind under the sun
Link arms and forward march
No lawyer could hope to stop us
No gate could stand in our way
Let you voice ring loud and clear today
Cup you hands and shout out “NAY!”
Your flow swept me away and the words carried me even higher. The flow of all of your verses reflects the topic, and that is a gift π
Andrea
Nay! I love it π Thank you for the encouraging words
Amazing! To me, this poem is illustrative of the ongoing struggle that the present must face in order to be able to answer adequately to history. The question being: did we stand up for the truth? Thank you very much for sharing this, my friend.
Everyone longs to stand up for something, and choosing what we should do is not always easy, but there is a great beauty in people united for a cause involving freedom

Thank you very much, androgoth!
Really cool image once again V.W. You really are a unique being knowing a little about your background. Yes, I think something is building under the sheets that may one day confront with equal force the indifference…and if not, I prefer to be under the sheets.
Thank you for your inspiring perspectives. I am indebted to you for sparking thought and provoking consideration π
Interesting poem….”Clutched, I find our picket signs are/ Painted hearts on wicked minds…” and….”Across the codes we write of love/Across the viruses of hate…” These two parts stood out and spoke to me the most. Very nice…
Thank you so much. I am glad you took time to appreciate it π
