I have you surrounded
Like Saturn is surrounded by it’s rings
Taken you in so deep you are
Like the blood within my veins
Close as the atoms that I’m crushing
When I pull you firmly in
So much a part my heart can’t tell
Where I could end and you begin
Come inside my arms
In the circle where
I can keep you warm
Safe protected there
You don’t need to be
Far away from me
Leave the outside world
Come inside my arms
I have you surrendered
Like the french in every war they ever fought
I think I want to steal your heart
And I don’t care if I get caught
I need you near me
Like the seashore needs the ocean’s touch
Take me and wrap me up
Like a blanket on your shoulders, love
Your words strike me hard tonight. They are the words a woman wants to hear, and most likely doesn’t.
They are words every woman should be able to hear. They are words which are so often confined to the inside of our minds. It is quite likely they have never escaped my lips, and may live only here…maybe it is where they belong. Thank you Sarah

It’s beautiful. I am at a loss for words.
Then that is words enough 🙂
Just wanted you to see I read it. I needed it.
Will you tell me about what inspired it?
I’m glad that I could supply something you need.
I suppose it was inspired by a deep inner desire to protect and comfort. Love sometimes is a shield against the outside. As humans, we need each other, and we need to know someone cares. There is some part of me that does not feel fulfilled unless I can protect and guard those I love, either physically or perhaps emotionally. It was something I wrote quite quickly one night as I was thinking about wanting to do just that. 🙂
Thank you, such a wonderful explanation.
Yes ma’am!
Just so beautiful, the sentiment , the rhythm the words all so beautiful. I particularly love the line “I need you near me Like the seashore needs the ocean’s touch” I reaches out and touches me , thank you .
Thank you Willow!
this is very beautiful.
Thank you Bella 🙂
after reading this once more, with a more light heart and head, it seems as though you are talking to me, cooing me with your words, gently whispering, “i have infiltrated you and now I’m lost inside you” not knowing where one ends and the other begins….this is very comforting…thank you VW!
That is very sweet of you, Bella. It is an honor to think I could craft words that would encourage you or make you smile. I’m glad you liked it 🙂
(I think the French will be up in arms!! 😉 ) … BUT a fantastic and emotive poem, VW, simply and truly Love-ly… xPenx
Well, at least if they start a war with me the odds are in my favor 🙂
I love the French, BTW. They are brilliant in art and culinary prowess. I don’t like fighting, so I don’t hold it against them that they never win wars. Maybe they are lovers and not fighters 🙂
Absolutely lovely. This is the perfect way to wake up when I am under the weather.
😀
It’s really not that bad to be under the weather. I usually am, unless I am in a plane. Sometimes the weather is prettier when you are under it. I hope you feel better!
😀
Lol thank you dear sir. Your writing sure gives me a reason to not wallow in my sickness and read something 🙂
Then it is worth the effort! Distraction has a healing effect! I’m glad to hear that 🙂
“Take me and wrap me up
Like a blanket on your shoulders, love”
Such a beautiful statement, i love this peice
Thank you, Jenny. I guess I have been thinking about blankets a lot lately haha
